Every task in Spinoco has a header that displays the same key information regardless of task type. Use this guide to understand each element in the task header and what you can do with it.
Close the task view
The Close button dismisses the task panel from the side of your screen.
Subscribe to a task
The Subscribe checkbox controls whether or not you receive notifications for the task. When the checkmark is present, you are notified of any updates. When the field is empty, notifications for that task are turned off.
Task name and type
The task name appears alongside an icon that indicates the task type. A standard checkmark icon means the task was created manually — not through an incoming communication. The task name in the header reflects what the task is about, for example, “Payment confirmation”.
Due date
The due date shows when the task should be completed. You can set a date, a specific time, or both. For closed tasks, the due date reflects when the task was expected to be completed — not when it was actually resolved.
Task creator
The task creator appears next to the due date. If no name is shown, the task was created automatically or initiated directly by a customer through a communication channel.
Skills
The icon next to the creator’s name represents the skill associated with the task. Hover over the icon to see the skill name. A task can have more than one skill icon.
Customer information
Below the creator is the customer the task is associated with. This field can be empty if the task has no linked contact. Use the edit button (the grey pencil icon) to update the associated contact if needed.
Task actions
The blue action items in the header provide options for working on the task. The options available depend on the task type.
Here is what each one does:
- Follow-up — Creates a new task linked to the current one. Use this to break a task into smaller steps or to ensure a follow-on action is not missed.
- Edit — Opens the task details so you can update any modifiable fields.
- Call — Calls the customer associated with the task using the top phone number listed on their contact card.
- Link — Links the task to another task. Use this to maintain context or keep a connected line of communication across related tasks.
- Offer to Others/Assign to Me — If the task is already assigned to a colleague, it states Offer to Others. If the task is unassigned, it states Assign to Me instead.
- Send email — Starts a new email thread with the customer. This option is only available when the task is linked to a contact with an email address.
- More options (…) — If additional options exist that do not fit in the header, they appear under the three-dot menu. For example, Copy link generates a link to the task that you can share with a colleague so they can open it directly in Spinoco.
Complete a task
The large green checkmark button in the header completes the task and marks it as resolved for you and your entire team. Once a task is complete, the button turns grey and can no longer be clicked — this is how you can tell that the task has already been resolved.
